Can you believe that it’s nearly the end of July? That can only mean one thing, 4 September will be here before you know it, so make sure to secure your spot at London Duathlon to Run – Bike – Run around Richmond Park. To help inspire you on your journey to the start line, here is a quick round up of some of the recent activity that has gone on within the active world…

Cycling News

Sunday 24 July saw the end of Tour de France, where nearly 200 cyclists raced over 2,000 miles in just 23 days. Taking place in France, cyclists cycled through towns, cities and the countryside experiencing it all. 

Denmark’s Jonas Vingegaard, took victory after completing the huge challenge in 79hrs 33mins 20secs. Britains former winner, Geraint Thomas finished third overall. 


Friday 15 July to Sunday 24 July saw the World Athletics Championships take place in Eugene, Oregon. Great Britain and Northern Ireland achieved 7 medals, 1 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze. 

28-year-old, Jake Wightman became a World Champion in the 1500m making him the first British man to win the World 1500m title since 1983!
