THE OXFORD HALF 2019 RACE EDITION IS HERE!
Save the date! Oxford Half is returning to the beautiful and historic city of Oxford on Sunday 13 October 2019! PLUS, this year a public ballot will be introduced for general race entries.
Why a ballot, you ask? Jessica Frey, CEO of Virgin Sport gives the lowdown:
Due to the race’s popularity and limited capacity, a public ballot will be introduced for the Oxford Half in 2019. This decision was driven primarily by our charity objectives and course constraints in Central Oxford.
The ballot will give our charity partners additional time for recruitment and fundraising, increasing the amount of funds that are raised for charity. We’ve made the decision not to grow the event and risk crowding which could negatively impact runner experience. Going forward the ballot will give everyone a fair chance to enter the event.
The deadline for ballot applications is 1 March 2019. Entries will be randomly allocated and runners that are successful will receive their invitations in March 2019.

Part of a run club? Your space is safe! As a vow to continue support for local and loyal Oxford Half runners, we’ve implemented a process for local run clubs to obtain an allotment of guaranteed entries. This allows clubs and their runners to schedule their calendars and be assured a place in the race!
If you or your run club teammates would like to run the Oxford Half, please email us at hello@virginsport.com and let us know how many places you’d like for your club.
Ready? Let’s go! There’ll be plenty of live music, local bands and DJs on course to motivate trailblazing participants all the way to the finish line. And, runners and spectators are welcome to join the full day of race activities taking place at the race village in Oxford University Parks, including dynamic warm ups and cool downs, post-race massage, entertainment, food and drinks, and more!
To run the Oxford Half on Sunday 13 October, enter the ballot here before the deadline on 1 March 2019.
